Data & Coverage

How current the map is, where it is strongest, and what PJsky will not guess for you.

How often it updates

Positions on the map refresh about every five seconds while it is open, and tracked aircraft are re-checked continuously in the background.

Coverage

Coverage is strong over much of North America and Europe and thinner over open ocean and remote regions. When an aircraft stops reporting, PJsky marks it as signal lost instead of guessing where it is.

Flight history

Positions are recorded as they arrive, so an aircraft's flight history is built from the track it actually reported — no guessed airports, no invented times.

Origins, destinations and arrival times

Departure, destination and estimated arrival appear only when that information is reliably available; otherwise the aircraft simply shows it as unavailable.

Not for operational use

Positions can be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate. Never use PJsky for navigation or operational decisions.
